Slickfish

When you first see this lure you’ve gotta think gimmick. Sure it’s a stretch to think a bait that has hooks spring loaded will produce fish. However, the Slickfish lure passed the test. This bait can be fished literally anywhere. Get a good knot with the line trimmed nice and tidy and you can fish this through any slop on the water without any hesitation.

The Slickfish comes in a semi-floater or a shallow diver. The bait fishes a lot like a frog or a rip bait depending on the model you are throwing. The Slickfish was very successful during field testing fishing it in the tules and above the long “hippie” grass on the Delta.

The way the bait works is that with the bait being secured in a fish’s mouth a hookset will pull the spring loaded hooks out of its body. As the bait begins to move in the fish’s mouth the hooks grab and you are in business. With 5 bites on the Slickfish, 4 fish were landed with the fifth fish possibly having the bait only by tail section.
